This is a seminal book on enslaved women. Sadly, this was the first gendered analysis of slavery and it was only published in the 80s or 90s. Though we know far more about the expirences of enslaved women it is important to read this book because it was truly the first of its kind in the field of history.

Hi everyone!
I am am in a history MA, I LOVE history, and I love this app. I have been looking on here for some other people who read a lot of history for recommendations, but I have been having a hard time.
About my historical/nonfiction interest:
I really will read anything about gender or race those are my main interests.
Please give me any and all nonfiction recommendations!

Whether you love to hate or hate to love 'em, these literary bad girls are anything but well-behaved. *Disclaimer: we do not literally support the illegal and oft cruel behavior of these protagonists (usually); we support the authors bold enough to write them (always).
