This book is no doubt very well-researched, but I found it hard to follow the author's line of thought. I expected some signposting through clear sub-headings, but instead I was met with dull, dense and verbose writing. Perhaps, I was not the target audience though haha. I've read similar books, which while technical, were still accessible to the general public, so I don't think it's a matter of technicality really. The writing was just too packed. That's all.

I liked how the author used historical evidence to support each of her arguments. She also references events that have occurred recently, which is nice for anyone looking for an updated account of the economic system. I also liked how simple the language is; if you haven't studied economics, you'd still enjoy this. Of course, there are times when it gets technical but generally it keeps things simple.

The only thing I didn't like was the recommendations section. After the thorough commentary, I expected just as thorough suggestions for the alternative system, which by that point, she's convinced the reader is possible. But maybe that's a positive because it shows there's no on paper one-size-fits-all solution. Communities have to get together to decide what a humane system looks like for them. There's room for a system that's flexible, as it responds to the changing needs of the people.

Also, her videos on YouTube are a pretty great introduction to her work, if the book seems intimidating.
