bias: em hen is my favorite author. also bias: I went into this hearing the rumors that this was not the normal em hen and most didnāt like it.
conclusion: I loved it! yes, itās a different style, noticeably like that of another author, but I was transfixed and found myself rooting for both storylines. it still had the cute, adorable moments weāve grown to love about Emily Henryās romances, but with tragedy and bittersweetness as well. the ending was a little too wrapped up in a bow for me, especially for the way the third act was brought about, but overall, I loved this one.
1: funny story 2: book lovers 3: beach read 4: great big beautiful life 5: people we meet on vacation 6: happy place

a wonderful cozy murder mystery. even if I did read a holiday rom com in the summer š¤£
knives out with some enemies to lovers with cutesy banter? you donāt have to tell me twice. couldnāt put it down. will say was a little predictable at times, but didnāt keep me from pressing on.

listened to this audiobook in one workday.
there were some very good spiritual, meditative points given, but overall I felt like it was very disconnected? maybe it was the format in which it was written.
