An introduction to the Romantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

Putting this on hold for now. I can see why so many people love it, but the writing style just isn’t for me. I think if I’d read this 10 years ago, I probably would’ve enjoyed it a lot more.

I will put this book on hold because I cant help thinking about the previous book i've read while reading this one. I think it's not a good idea to jump into a 4th book of a new series after reading a really good standalone novel.

This is the first book I’ve finished after almost 10 years of being in a reading slump, and I’m so glad I picked this one up.
I went into it completely blind. I had no idea it started as a Draco/Hermione fanfic, nor did I know about all the discussions in the book community debating whether it’s really a romance fantasy or not. I experienced the story without any expectations, and I’m honestly grateful for that.
The one thing I was absolutely certain of by the end was how real Helena and her love for Kaine felt. Their love wasn’t cheesy or overly romanticized like in many books I’ve read before. It was raw, genuine, heartbreaking, and devastating. You could feel every ounce of longing, pain, and hope they carried for each other.
By the final chapters, I had become so used to terrible things happening to them that I genuinely thought the ending was another illusion, that Helena, broken and delirious, was simply imagining a happier reality. After everything they endured before the escape, the author had conditioned me to distrust any glimpse of hope. I honestly didn’t believe we would get a happy ending.
What I appreciated most was that this wasn’t another story where the main characters had to play the hero and save the world through one grand sacrifice. Sometimes survival is enough. Choosing to escape and never return to Paladia wasn’t cowardice, it felt human. If I were in their shoes, I would’ve made the exact same choice.
Alchemised wasn’t the romance fantasy I expected. It was darker, heavier, and far more emotionally exhausting but that’s exactly what made it unforgettable.
