I picked this up for a reprieve from Faulkner, and I wasnât expecting it to be so damn delightful! These characters & settings leap off the page!
âHere sat Marilla Cuthbert, when she sat at all, always slightly distrustful of sunshine, which seemed to her too dancing a thing for a world which was meant to be taken seriously.â
Such a sublime character description.
ETA: I expect that Anne is going to come into these peopleâs lives and shake them up quite a lot, and I canât wait to see that!
