The highest compliment I can give this is that, multiple times per short story, there'd be a metaphor/simile that made me groan with annoyance because I'd not thought of them myself, and because of how accurate they were. Short story collections are tough because it's hard to make each and every one as good as the other. Honestly I felt the last two were the least strong. There was one in there that was so specific that it was really risky to include as it might go over a lot of readers' heads. But it was one of my favourites in the collection. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the poignant melancholy that each story left me with!
