An introduction to the SciFi genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

The Last Graduate as a sequel to A Deadly Education is like Stranger Things season 5 as a finale to the whole series. hear me out.
š¦øāāļø heroines with magical powers nicknamed āElā šø we gotta save the kids! šŗļø fantastic world-building in the series introduction. it kept you intrigued and you would naturally root for the characters š¤·āāļø felt like the writers/author were stuck with the world-building for the sequel/finale. they (or others in the case of ST5) did such a good job at the introduction but didnāt know how to mantain or expand on it after. even if any expansion was done, it was a weak attempt. āļø hey, remember this problem that we brought up as a cliffhanger from the last book/season? forget about it! we somehow resolved and brushed over it so it doesnāt matter anymore! š¹ the romance didnāt make sense. the couples (el/orion, el/mike) had great chemistry for the series intro but the Els were too focused on fighting for Last Graduate and ST5. the writers make the couple have one very emotional touching moment but it feels a little off because the chemistry was non-existent and forced and yet the readers/watchers are meant to root for their relationship. š§āāļøENDS ON A DUMB CLIFFHANGER
if you canāt tell, iām lowkey pissed off and confused. donāt get me wrong, it was still a solid book hence the 3-star rating and i canāt be too mad at Naomi Novik for creating this world in the first place. i still loved the characters a whole lot despite the plot and world itself not doing it for me.
side note: Liu do you have a spare mouse? need a sarcastic familiar like Precious immediately
