The more I read it, the more convinced I became that this was the highlight of the author's bibliography. It is a masterfully written book, where the research work appears so significantly that it leaves you breathless. I loved it even though I found the beginning a little slow and the ending a little too fast. I realize it was probably a narrative technique, but I would have preferred more balance, more detailed answers to my questions. Absolutely one of the best reads read this year though. Characters with these story arcs are and always will be my favorite.

What makes us, us? This is the question I asked myself most often while reading this book. What distinguishes us in this society? What is normal? They teach us what we must do, who we must be and when we do not adapt to the story they tell what we become? A disconcerting reading at times, as violent as the themes it deals with, made of rebellion and homologation cruelly juxtaposed. I loved it, maybe the best SalTo discovery of this year. I absolutely recommend it.

The last 10% of this book was bearable. Everything else? Repetitive af and pretextual. The characters never really grow, except for the last part. I read it for fun and I was angry most of the time.

Is there some feelings this man cannot explain?

This story is really well-written. It’s refreshing seeing that the genre is still being kept alive in such an amazing way. I found this Saga (pun awful but intended) on a shelf by chance and it attracted me for all the good reasons. I hope they will publish asap the sequel to know how it will end and I know I will be demolished by it, but I am here for the feeling… I guess…
