Men are really out here willing to let every person in their life die so that they can reach their “Consummate Result” 🙄
Because, after all, they deseeeerve her. If only she could do exactly what he wants!!, be exactly who he wants her to be!!, and I mean, nbd but, just like, live up to his fantasy OKAY!!!! I mean, that’s really all a woman has to do to be allowed to live 🥰 💖❣️😊💗
Beth Morgan’s writing is sharp and so painfully funny. It clocks characters with their particularities that make them feel so real, and, importantly, insufferable. She crafted a wild ride, and in this instance, I buckled up and said, In Beth Morgan I Trust 🫡 So glad I did. What a payoff.

He was so much more endearing with all the Margaret Louise/Ann/Mary etc etc. I wish authors remembered that the MMC doesn’t have to lose his humor and charm the second he gets the green light from the FMC and turn into a growling serious protective nut. You can be protective AND silly. Come onnnnn.
This came across my feed at just the right time. I’m coming into the time of year that marks my dad’s death. It will be nine years and this past week as the grief felt nearer I found myself having self-judgement come up as if “I should be over this by now” — as if there was an external and internal pressure telling me that my grief has a deadline. Thanks for sharing this quote from a book I adore. I get to take my time. “Refuse to rush.” Maybe I will return to this book in the next couple of months to accompany me with my grief!
Moving on, as a concept, is for stupid people, because any sensible person knows that grief is a long-term project. I refuse to rush. The pain that is thrust upon us let no man slow or speed or fix.
Absolutely love this. There is no getting over a person you’ve lost, there is only going through, despite the pain.
