the whirlpool of emotions voyne is in, her anger and her exhaustion, is written about so beautifully I feel like I'm in a trance reading it. but what has me especially hooked is the slow unravelling of her faith that's taking clearly root in her heart.
I've never thought myself that big of a fan of religious imagery before, but god this is so fucking good it might just... convert me into one.

this is a review for The Space Between us by Liza (my bestie bitch)
wile the beginning felt a little jarring and rushed at times, i still felt myself cheering for them to resolve things and find each other again. it wasn’t in the way i expected - but it was v hot 🥵 the emotional logic behind the characters’ choices always felt believable. i never struggled to understand why they made the decisions they did - even when those decisions hurt
i wanted more time with things, tho. with them in the beginning, and with them at the end. hell. maybe even more time with Alyssa - i liked her. & a little more room before the ending. i was especially attached to Damien and found his connection with Mari particularly compelling. the ending left me hopeful for their future, though I would have preferred slightly more certainty and closure bc i’m just that kinda person. it wasn’t a bad choice by any means. i can appreciate and respect the “open to interpretation” style of resolution. overall, it was an emotional ride bc several elements of the book resonated very closely with my own personal life.
and i’m so proud of liza for creating this story, writing it so beautifully well and for sharing it with me. 🤍 i’m so lucky to have you as a friend & i look forward to reading more of your stories & getting your signature tatted on my asscheek when you become famous. i’ll be the snobby bestie who said i knew you first 🤪🥰

I’m really not finding any joy in all the info dumping and slow pace so far, I really hope it picks up soon. Also it already feels like the number of pages is too much, and that this could have been done in fewer pages while still getting the story across.

i…… don’t know about this for me
i wanna love it but im not even 30 pages in and im already side eyeing it. maybe contemporary romance isn’t my thing right now. maybe the constant references to the show and other movies is throwing me off. i’m already disinterested in the MMC and it’s only been 5 mins. i’m also not really interested in reading ab improv/acting. and the voice of the book saying “….” said sally “….” said marvin (im making these names up, sue me) — is annoying me?? lol
