How To Adult
If you could recommend one book to every person entering adulthood (for the sake of this post, let's say that is their 18th birthday, even though I know this varies by culture), what would that book be, and why?
(Also, if you want to talk about cultural insights when it comes to becoming an adult, and a book you'd want all folks of that age/experience to have feel free to do that as well, or in lieu of the above question.)
I could make a case for Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World – and Why Things Are Better Than You Think because it both points out somethings that we all get wrong and brings hope about the world.

But has anything been said about author profiles on PB? 👀
I love displaying the fact I'm an author and getting to have my books attached to my profiles like some proud mom saying "Look at my baby!"
I know PB isn't a place to market books or do self-promotion so I don't know if this would even be a thing. But it may be fun to see users who are also authors and maybe give their books a boost if we see them around
Obviously if it won't be a thing then that is totally okay. I love PB eitherway

one of my current reads is absolutely devasting, and it reminded me of my search from late last year of wanting some heart wrenching, soul shattering books.
i feel like it's been a while since i've cried because of a book and i'm wondering if anyone has any recs. the genre doesn't really matter to me, though i am hesitant to literary fiction, but i'm not completely opposed to it. preferably queer, sapphic if you have them. (i do listen to audiobooks so if a narrator is particularly good, do share with the class !!)

How do you feel about reviews?
I used to be very picky about reviews and ratings. I would try and only read books rated 4 and above on GR. But then I realized I was liking some books that were 3.6 and up.
Do you guys take into consideration the average star ratings? I have friends who don’t care about reviews at all and will pick up a book with a bad ratings if they like the plot.
If you do take into consideration the reviews, what number is your limit? Mine is anything lower than 3.6.
Edit: I love the PB community because I have reconsidered my whole stance on ratings. I am now going to disregard ratings and stop being so picky. This def makes a more open minded experience ❤️❤️❤️
