    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Serious question for everyone that gave Saving Noah high ratings: Did you all get different copies than me? Was yours not riddled with typos and not even poorly edited, but I swear it wasn't even proofread... This isn't even about the content, but the actual writing itself....

My opinion on the content is a whole separate issue (which I am pretty surprised at, because this is right up my alley of flawed characters that spark conflicting emotions, but this book... I feel like people are just saying they like it to be edgy)

    Forget Noah, save your money.

This is different than I remember. Then again, the last time I read this I was sixteen, and I’m twenty-three now

  • Discord Book Club Advice

    Hey,

I am hoping to make a discord club for multi passionate people as a place to discuss numerous different topics including books, hobbies, etc. I figured, since discord has channel options when you create a server, it would be a good place to host it.

To anyone who has made a discord book club, I have a few questions for you.

    How are you enjoying it?

How do you handle age verification? I've heard of a data leak that makes me distrustful of the feature and data privacy but I also want the platform to be 18+.

How do you balance privacy and community?

  • Thoughts on Page vs Book Goal-Setting

Hello all! As the year winds down, I have started to think about setting reading goals for next year. I found that I was able to read a good number of books this year (for me), and a lot of them were shorter, lighter novels. This was a lot of fun for me! However, I found that I do have a few longer, denser works (both non fiction and novels) that I've put off, knowing that it will take me awhile to get through them.

I'm considering setting my primary reading goal for next year to focus on pages read vs books read, in order to allow me to delve into these longer texts without feeling like I'm losing time by doing so. Has anyone had success with this approach? I think it would be helpful, but I do also consume a non-zero percentage of books via audiobook (about 20% of my books this year have been audio), so I know those wouldn't count towards a page goal. Any other pitfalls towards counting in this way?

Finally, does anyone know if there's a way to set a Page Number goal in Pagebound? I know there is in Storygraph (I use both platforms because I love them both for different things), but I haven't seen a way to do so in Pagebound yet, and not sure if I'm missing it or if it doesn't exist.

Anyway, I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts! Tell me if you think this is a disaster, or how you'd approach it, or anything else. Thank you!

This book (in my opinion) is one of the most important pieces of literature in existence.

One of the rare moments where I prefer the movie to the book. However, it’s still wonderfully written
