i greatly enjoyed so many parts of this and the character work is really wonderful but i would be lying if i said i felt like every single scene was needed i reckon you could chop a chunk of this and still get the desired effect what is this man’s relationship with his editor.

picked this up at a book exchange and so pleased i did this is some of the best character work ive read this year i felt like i was apart of this group in a way very reminiscent of the raven cycle in that i was less bothered what happened and just happy to be there

a great concept this truly could’ve benefitted from being a full length i appreciate these short form horrors but i need more!!!!

so many points for the world building and the otherness and horror elements minus so many points for the fact the protagonist made me want to put my head through a wall with such an exceedingly dull narration. would love to go back to this series but I need a more exciting protagonist.

beautiful prose. i found this is really what i am looking for novellas of this size to do. i didn’t feel like i needed to know anything else as that wasn’t the purpose of the story.

wonderful introduction to nosy gossiping icon jane marple although i failed to feel much connection to any of the other characters and her part was realistically minor. a fun but slow moving mystery i do so enjoy christie’s red herrings and twists.

i am very well known to enjoy a music biopic; it is a truly fascinating industry to me. unfortunately this didn’t feel like it had as much depth as others i’ve read and was more of a surface level skirt. i enjoyed it all the same, particularly the discussion of carrie and corrin navigating their changing relationship, but felt like it was missing that little bit of spark.

carrie soto is a brilliant protagonist - an absolute bitch and you love her! i do have to credit a certain film but the tennis world is one of my favourite sports to follow and tjr has such a way with storytelling that make her novels so easy to race through.

Do you guys have any theories as to why most people seem to prefer mlm over wlw? Especially considering that most romance readers are women and if you are reading gay romances you would be more on the progressive scale so one wouldn't immediately sus you out for misogyny. Any ideas?

such a sucker for a mixed media it makes a book 50% more fun and interesting. nothing special in the reveals for me they weren’t predictable but just not groundbreaking.

have such a fun little time with these oldies it actually frustrated me a bit the guys didn’t get their time to shine as much (especially ibrahim, give me more ibrahim!!) these do really hit the spot of an easy read however thank you richard

sometimes you just have to enjoy a silly little mystery about silly little old people solving silly little crimes. writing this review on retrospect of the film i can also feel much more satisfied with the way this plays out.

super intrigued to read this from such a legend of his genre however i do feel like i was expecting a comment on the craft and ended up with a heavy memoir backstory moment. would love to remind him that most people interested in writing have a job and we do not have the same 24 hours in a day.. which he is well aware of…

beautifully honest. painfully funny. adam is insufferable and charming and a great protagonist for these circumstances. an incredibly easy read with a formatting that i really enjoy plus some humour that hit lovely and close to home from a previous job i had in healthcare.
