I had no idea what this book was going to be about, and I was definitely not disappointed. I wish there had been more “apparitions” or “Hauntings” during the “Massacre of the sweat lodge” section of the book like there was in the first chunk. But I understand and appreciate that it was done the way it was.

This book was very entertaining and I will immediately be reading the next one. I feel bad because I promised a friend of mine a buddy read this month, but now I fear that this will take up all my time this month

The whole premise was very intriguing. While I do feel like the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more, they did captivate me and left me wondering what to think.
I think that it could be a standalone, it did leave you with questions at the end, I would’ve been ok to have left it up to speculation especially with the style of the book, but I think a sequel was confirmed.
Also. If it wasn’t a Hardcover and I wasn’t able to take off the dust jacket I absolutely would not have read it. The cover shown on this app is nice though. The one I had was a woman sitting at a bar. I 100% judge books by their covers and I absolutely despise this cover. It does not reflect the book at all. Without the dust jacket it is really cute, it has a fun little gold design.
I am actually angry about the cover. It made me lose faith in humanity a little bit. I definitely wouldn’t have read it if it wasn’t recommended to me. I am very excited for new designs for the cover to come out.
