Fredrick Backman has done it again! i know i’ll always be in for a treat whenever i pick up any of his books and this one didn’t disappoint. i was captivated from the first sentence and there wasn’t a single moment where i felt bored and that’s saying something these days. this book made me feel all the emotions possible and once again i’m left wondering how Backman is able to rip my heart out, break it into pieces and stitch it back together again.
there were so many things i loved about this book but the standout for me was seeing Ted and Louisa’s relationship grow. their interactions offered much needed comedic relief during some of the heavy themes that are discussed. these characters felt so real to me and it pained me to see what they had to go through but there was so much hope and joy intertwined within this book it felt me breathless.
overall, a great book and i know i will be thinking about it for a long time
