Hi all! I’m looking to jump into The Expanse series soon but I’m not sure if I should start here with Book 1 or if the prequels are a better place to begin. I’ve never seen the show and honestly know very little about the plot of the series so I thought Pagebound might be able to help! Thanks in advance! ☺️

First 1/3 was a solid 4 stars with thought provoking and unsettling allegory !! Unfortunately, the 2/3 mark shift of pov was where it collapsed for me - repetitious and dull, could have been removed entirely imo. The 3/3 mark became slightly more interesting but ultimately didn’t do much for me.
I like the messages in this text and some of the lines were gorgeous, but so many sections could have been shortened - a pretty damning thing for a book this brief

Excruciating. Just completed the near-impossible task of reading it at work without crying.
