Star rating: ⭐️⭐️.5 Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️ This novella was okay. I wasn’t a fan of Cole or Xander. They came across as immature and childish to me. This was labeled a MMF novella, and I guess technically it was, but Xander felt like more of a side character. Especially since he wasn’t included in the POVs. The spicy scenes were probably the only good thing about this novella. They were relatively well written. Since I wasn’t a fan of the characters I have no plans of continuing the series. POV: dual, first person Tropes: mmf, forced proximity, virgin h Kinks: caught masturbating, taboo (step-siblings), rough sex, voyeurism Triggers: light bullying

Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what to write in this review so I apologize if it is choppy and doesn’t flow well. I enjoyed Lords of Pain, but I can also see why a lot of people didn’t. The entire book is a mix of noncon and dubcon, there is zero consensual acts committed in this book. If you’re someone who can’t read those triggers, then this story is definitely not for you. Story is a decent FMC. She is naive, but she does have a slight backbone to her and she isn’t a doormat. I understand why her virginity was essential to the story line, but it really wasn’t my favorite plot point. Way too much emphasis was put on it. Rath, Killian, and Tristian were alright. My favorite was Tristian, despite the incident in the laundry room. He’s the only character I felt showed growth. I know a lot of people loved Killian, but he is my least favorite character in this series (so far). Rath was okay, he felt more like a side character to me rather than a main character. All in all, I enjoyed it. I can’t really pinpoint why. I am going to move on to Lords of Wrath. I dont even care to find out who Ted really is, I just want to see how the relationships between the characters change and although I don’t like Killian I am rooting for him and Story to understand one another. POV: multiple first person Tropes: bully, reverse harem/why choose, virgin heroine, forbidden (step-siblings), stalker, enemies to lovers Kinks: exhibitionism, somnophilia, humiliation Triggers: sexual assault, dubcon, drugging

Star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I enjoyed this book more than the first one, but it still was just an okay read to me. Maybe it’s my mood, I don’t know. I grew tired of the never ending push and pull with the relationships between Story and the Lords. I did enjoy the characters more in this one, probably because there was more depth and history given. This series just feels entirely too long. This one was 422 pages and I don’t feel like a whole lot actually happened in the book until the last 20%. I don’t plan to continue the series. I am probably going to ask someone in my book group to spoil the two questions I have to tie up the series. POV: multiple first person Tropes: bully, reverse harem/why choose, stalker Kinks: humiliation, blood play, knife play, pushing it back inside, somnophilia, Triggers: graphic abuse, dubcon, noncon, mutilation, suicidal thoughts (on page), cutting, suicide attempt (on page)
