Well... that was not what I was expecting. Interesting premise but it fell flat at the end. Admirable effort on McCurdy's part- will definitely read more of her work.

Rereading simply because I watched the Netflix and it's been years since I read it. I remember thinking it was just okay- not my favorite Emily Henry. Controversial take possibly- I kind of like the movie a bit more so far. The actress who plays Poppy understood the assignment and gave Poppy this necessary charm.

It's hard to put into words how I feel about this book. Clearly I enjoyed it- having given it 4 stars. I've always loved Jane Austen- most likely because my mother loved Jane Austen (particularly Pride and Prejudice). I've find it interesting to read more about authors from the past and the influences in their life that inspired their stories. That and Janet Todd seems lovely.
