Reality is overrated! These surreal and absurd fiction books remove logic to reveal their truths. Here the impossible is inevitable, the strange is necessary, and Kafkaesque is only the beginning.

Is anyone else a little unhinged like me and bring hardback/physical books travelling? I’m a mood reader and often read from my physical tbr, so I’ll regularly choose books that I already have to take with me. The problem in that is the physical weight and bulk of carrying them 🥲 I have a kindle but I rarely buy books from Amazon so this is a hell of my own creation.
Does anyone else do this? RIP to my crowded handbag on this flight to Greece.

I’m getting through this rather slowly because I’m not always in the mood for it - but I am very much enjoying it. I’m loving the atmosphere, the dependency, the yearning!

The format, the prose, the way each character held such depth and each held a unique tone was already a recipe for a five star read. But the atmosphere! It was so decadent. And the care with which Gill wrote Hekate was beautiful. Thanatos was also handed with such gentleness. I just loved this book. I look forward to the next instalment in this series!
