i really hate when books don’t use quotation marks with dialogue :( it irks me and hurts my brain— does anyone know the significance of not? like is it significant in the history of literature or is it just a choice that has no real meaning?

honestly no notes I loved this book!!!!!!! the dual timelines i actually really enjoyed (I also did watch the movie first and i was obsessed) I have never really been a romance or rom-com book girl but I have been trying to get into it more and this one really did it for me! I loved the banter it was really clever and funny and I think even if I didn’t watch the movie first I would have enjoyed it because the conversations between Poppy and Alex were so silly it really sold their friendship dynamic so well. I liked the difference between the book and the movie too, I feel like the movie did its best in adaptation while leaving some things out, and it was really nice to get more in depth with their characters and their feelings. I don’t think there was anything about it that I didn’t like, but maybe I’ll come back to tweak this review once I think on it for a couple of days (I kinda doubt it though! Great job Emily Henry!!!!!!!)

I saw the movie and was honestly OBSESSED. I feel like I haven’t loved a rom-com like this in so long. It was so well done and the banter and the characters were so well fleshed out that I finished the movie and instantly wanted to watch it again. So far, I don’t mind any of the little changes I have seen that the movie made from the book, and my expectations are being met reading wise!
