IK EVERYONE LOVES THIS BOOK, so dont cancel me for finding it abit draggy. As someone who doesnt read a lot of scifi, I'm most taken aback by the lack of emotion, esp fear and depression. Plus, there is sm potential to talk bt his psychological state and ponderings to add more depth to this man stranded in mars, but instead it focuses soley on the science-y and building and fixing stuff. Ofc, he's funny, so that rlly helps.

Sometimes it's just amazing how when I start a book, it hits right through in the first few chapters.
But then I had to stop, this book became too personal, that I felt like it was reading me instead of the other way around, and then when I went back, it slowly started to a phase I am moving forward too.
Books are amazing. Just like how the idea of peeking into other could and would have beens when a chance shows up.
In the end, it's fiction, and by the time I finished this book, I am happy things worked out for Nora.
For me, I know what I can control, and it's refreshing to know I am not alone with these kind of thoughts.

oh my, this book is so beautiful and simple and meaningful.
honestly, it’s unlikely everyone appreciates the book as i do. the book can be devoured based on ur experiences and regrets and various other lenses through which u see the world. this decides if it’s relatable or maybe if it’s just draggy.
for me, as someone who wonders and questions and overthinks and regrets many of my life choices and changing moments – what would happen if i had done X instead? who would i have been? what would my life look like? would i be happier than i am now? – this book was like a warm hug. ofc, it’s nice to know other ppl think of this at well. but very specific to me, the book was so relatable. from the very concept of a midnight library (i love reading books too – duh) to her interests in many things from a young age (same bro same) to her love of philosophy (i think bt a couple of these concepts like wayyy too much), she was a pretty good rep of who i am and how i feel. so, to see this author go through the different journeys and stories, while also reflecting and growing and seeing value in living, is SO heartwarming. her stories and reflections are so simple and obvious, but also so hard hitting.
adore this book, abit slow and out of my style, but it’s crazy that i still love it. will def read again.
