I feel like this story might have something to say but the writing feels very whimsical so as shocking are the events of the story I feel like it's not having the impact that it should (like, the events are fucked and ordinarily would have a psychological impact on me but it's just not there for me) I think the audiobook narrator isn't helping, it might be a very different experience reading it rather than listening. What are other people's experiences?
