I know this is a magical world. Silver and gold are horrible metals for swords. They are super soft and dent if you look at them funny. The titanium sword should be doing damage to everything.
Sorry. I’m being practical. Not always a good trait in a fantasy lover.

the hunt for an F1 romance that resonates with me continues /:
despite not loving slipstream, the premise for this one was really intriguing (the whole dating crappy men to break their hearts thing). however, like slipstream, this one also departed from the formula 1 aspects a LOT. this would be redeemable if i enjoyed the romance, but unfortunately i dont think that this author's writing style is for me, particularly when it comes to romance. I did like this more than slipstream, but it's still not a favorite, unfortunately.

i'm so happy to have gotten an advance reader copy of this to read a year after reading book 1!
this book picks up right where book 1 left off, and it feels like the same book, which is a definite plus. in this one, we get a lot more perspective / information about the world surrounding kenton hill / the city, and i think that the increased world building and scope from that strengthened the series overall. there's also the inclusion of some mythology/lore that i found super interesting.
theo and polly are both also more complex than i initially gave them credit for.
over all, once again i am very pleased to have read this.
