i know the author has been accused of plagiarism and i haven’t read the red queen so it’s not my place to agree or disagree but i am really enjoying it so far! it’s really helping me get out of my reading slump!

So over a year ago I read the Powerless series. At the time I had no idea that it was plagiarism. I’ve had The Red Queen on my tbr for a while but now I’m not sure whether or not to read it. Since Powerless stole a lot from Red Queen I feel like if I read it I wouldn’t be able to get into it since I had it spoiled from Powerless. I struggle to read books with predictable plots so I feel like that may apply here. I would love to read them but I genuinely have no idea if I could stick with it. Is The Red Queen different enough from what Powerless stole or should I take it off of my tbr?

Ok so I tried to get through this series a couple of years ago but DNF'd sometime during book 5. I was listening to the audibooks and was just SO annoyed by everyone.
Should I try again but actually reading the books rather than listening to them?Should I include the novella's? Or just continue living my life without fully knowing what happens in this series?

I was taking a look at my old hunger games books yesterday that my family got when the series first came out and comparing them to the new copy of the first book that I got fairly recently. The old paperback copy of the book was only $9 while the new one was $16.99!! It's just so saddening to me that book prices have rose so much to a point where so many are inaccessible to people now. Hardcovers are especially bad right now too as some are upwards and above $30. What are y'all's thoughts on this, i'm just so tired of everything getting so much more expensive, especially my favorite hobby 😭

I've been swamped with school yet my nose is always stuffed in a book and I'm always reading something.
It occurred to me, reading is a constant in my life and something I couldn't consider NOT doing.
Why do you read?

I’m a little torn on how I feel about this book being from Tella’s pov. Part of me finds it interesting to have the sequel told from the perspective of the complete foil to the previous narrator. Scarlett was hesitant and fearful and needed to learn to take leaps of faith and deal with the positive to negative consequences. While Tella is rash and impulsive and i think it will be refreshing to experience caraval through a new set of eyes that will need to learn different lessons. But on the other hand, I get frustrated when authors make you attached to a character’s story to just kinda sideline them in the sequel.

What’s your favorite color AND a book you like that’s cover is that same color?🤔
