This was a very cute story with fun and endearing main characters that made you root for them from the very first page. Jackson, Delilah, and their band of family and friends were lovely to read about and it really felt like their characters jumped from the page. I also enjoyed Aiden and Lucie making appearances from the first book in this series First Time Caller.
I feel like the plot was a bit all over the place, and it often felt either a bit dramatic (her boss was over the top and although not an uncommon women’s workplace experience, the way it was handled was ridiculous to me) or not super interesting (parts with family felt randomly placed without much consideration for character development). I think this book could’ve also just been a tad shorter and still would’ve had lots of magical moments and a little less stretching out of plot at the end.
I’d recommend this heartwarming book to any romance reader who loves consent and communication or anyone who has a thing for intelligence or weather reporters.

I seriously couldn’t put this book down once I got into it! I was in a bit of a reading rut and my girlfriend recommended I try this one out since it’s pretty short and easy to read. It absolutely worked and I blew through it!
I have very little experience with reading horror and this book definitely creeped me out way more than I was expecting. The descriptions are so vivid that I could practically feel them myself. Yet despite all that, the book still managed to make me chuckle throughout with plenty of dry humor from the characters and the narration.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to try out the horror genre or anyone interested in unusual biology!
