for a novel titled "the summer without men" it was centered a bit too much around husbands… i liked that we follow several different generations of women who all are involved in poetry or literature in some way, yet for many their thoughts still feel rather too centered around men/boys. the ending has an open ending but with the thoughts of the protagonist, she will surely take back her child of a husband.

so cute and validating of bisexuality! i liked ishu‘s character development but had my troubles with hani‘s mistrust in her… there were several situations after they already knew each other where she didn’t believe in her and showed she didn’t really know ishu that much at the point.
