My only wish is that Azula finds peace 😪 Might come back and give this the full 5⭐️ when I'm finished with the series.

Lestat at the Indie bookstore
All of the books seen on display in the recent trailer for The Vampire Lestat, where Lestat buys Interview with the Vampire and has a lil temper tantrum. Many thanks to the Reddit Sleuths who found/compiled this.

This is the first graphic novel I've read within the realm of investigative journalism. Great option for documentary and comic enthusiasts. The use of real photographs throughout was a great choice and helped highlight the importance of those sections.

In the discussion forum I mentioned something about the United Nations inaction and in Chapter VI, I was kinda proven right. Depicting the 1972 conference as a tennis match was an interesting choice. This section was filled with the most dense information and its depiction added to the confusion. After rereading this part I can conclude that nothing was really said in regards to where responsibility falls.

I have to point out it's weird to include a book about Mexica mythology (?) written my a non-Mexica or "Southwest" Native person. Alternatives for folks who are interested: • Tournament of Heirs by A. Perez • Black Sun by R. Roanhorse

Sorry to the writers but I skipped Kid Quick and K. Conroy's stories. 😅 Besides that this collection had a strong start and most of the stories had a great message behind them. Things that's stood out... • Nubia's issue was short and kinda random. • I loved the dreamy filter that Jackson's issue had.
I really liked this collection BUT it's split evenly between a true Pride anthology and Tim Drake special. Idk if his coming out was a big deal at the time but I don't see the point of dedicating a whole DC Pride volume to him, sorry.

Page 33/34 The fact that this was the first time (in the U.S.) that a company was fined the MAXIMUM penalty in an environmental related case is historic. Which immediately made me question why I never heard about this before?! Especially because I majored in Environmental Studies in college. With continued media coverage well after the court case of 1976, you'd think there would be more global recognition of the harm Chlordecone continued to cause. The Caribbean could have been saved!!!!
Page 38/40/52 Over 13 million dollars in settlement fees is a wild amount but more than half going to VEE gave me some pause. It's likely that the 8 million they got went towards research but like... What did they actually contribute to society? That map detailing the continued use of Chlordecone was a slap in the face! I know nothing about the law but there had to be some way of bringing this case to the United Nations. The original offenders actions still have consequences and folks like André Mangatal deserve to get paid what they're owed, this time by the French.

😴 I dozed off twice while reading this which was a real shame because I really liked the movie.
Positives: The art style was unique and the format for the paneling was simple. Nimona looked badass in her usual human form. I really enjoyed reading this in Spanish, the voices came to me naturally.
Negatives: Most of the art was too dark to fully enjoy. Felt like I did more reading than looking at the characters. The story/message wasn't as impactful as the movie adaptation.

I dislike kids and this is a second chance read because the anime will be aired in the near future. And... I still dislike Coco. I know she's just a kid but that's the whole point. Huft
