The title may give away that I’ve been recently dnf’ing a lot of books (some I didn’t log here lol) due many reasons, some are: uni- I don’t like the mc- the narrator is… hmm - HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO TAKE - what a problematic romance - even though I read most of the book I actually don’t care - dude can we get a change of scenery, why are you still describing this dude being on bed (petty reason ik, also a point for who know this book) etc… So I got curious, how many books have you guys already dnf’ed this year, and what are some of the reasons 👀?

I had so much fun with this book! From the unserious nature of well everything, to the out of the usual characteristics of the species, while still having real world problems and such a loving romance that wasn't too cheesy or smutty

Hello PB, I come to you with a rec search
So many romance books are small town vibes, and don’t get me wrong I love the small town romances and eat them up like I can’t get enough! But I am a big city girl living a big city life and relationship, and would like to see this in some more of the books I read. If you have any recs for good romance books set in the big city life I’d love to hear them!! I love the vibes of First-Time Caller & And now back to you. Give me meet cutes, workplace, bars & clubs…idk I’m down for any type ☺️🩷🩷

I’m so curious, and I have too many questions about everyone’s relationship to reading in English vs. reading in ur native language.
Do you pay it any mind? Is this something you actively try to balance? Can you decide to pick up a book translated from English to your native language?
Also for the people who, in addition to English and their native language, have a heritage language* they can read in. How comfortably can you read in your heritage language? Does that require A LOT of focus and effort like it does for me? In that case, how often do you make time for that focus and effort?
* = i was unfamiliar w this concept for a long time, so pasting this here from wikipedia for convenience: "A heritage language is a minority language (either immigrant or indigenous) learned by its speakers at home as children, and difficult to be fully developed because of insufficient input from the social environment."
