This book was simultaneously therapeutic and devastating, but also absolutely beautiful. The author has a way with words, and I kept finding myself having to stop and write down quotes from the book. I loved how impactful the character’s stories felt, and I loved way you felt like you were given an honest glimpse into the life of each character. I absolutely loved this book, and highly recommend it to anyone considering giving it a read.

What can I say? This book had it all! Misogyny! Prison rape jokes! Anti-aluminum antiperspirant sentiments! Multiple pierced penis references (just in case you forgot, he has 4)!
Look, I thought the book started off great, I kept finding myself giggling, and I found the book to be cute…at first. Slowly, but surely, the author managed to whittle away my enjoyment.
Between the repeated statements of the MMC saying he “owned” the FMC, the MMC calling the FMC a “prude” (got to love the misogynistic language in a romance novel) because she didn’t fawn over his blowjob joke that the MMC made within a couple days of knowing the FMC, and the MMC practically demanding the FMC be naked in situations where she clearly stated she did not want to be, it was all too much.
I seriously found myself questioning if a man wrote this book, multiple times throughout this novel. This book could have been so cute, but it could not stop getting in its own way. It’s such a shame, because the author clearly had a knack for writing fun, humorous banter, but like a tone deaf composer, kept losing the plot over and over again.
