about 70% through this book i turned to my wife and said “this reads like someone saw a writing prompt on tumblr about a time traveller and an immortal, not someone who actually wanted to write a book about time travel”

and what do i see in the acknowledgements? a shoutout to the tumblr user who posted the writing prompt that inspired this

maybe full review coming later but overall pretty big disappointment. all telling no showing (especially with the main couple), repetitive structure, no real thought into the mechanics or consequences of time travel, and extremely predictable villain reveal. don’t pick this for a good time travel book, and i unfortunately wouldn’t pick this for a romance either.
