They look human...but are they? A collection of manga involving monsters who appear to be human. Only the first volume in a series is included.

Curious if anyone else here sneaks in reading while they're at work 😂 I'm a part-time customer service rep at a grocery store while I'm in college and I always bring a book to my shifts. Usually I can hide behind the counter and read when there's no customers or anything else to do. Do you bring a book? Ebook? Earbuds for an audiobook? Or do you have to begrudgingly wait till you get home? 😂

Hi everyone! I read some pirate books last summer and it was really fun. I wanted to do it again this year and was wondering if anyone knew of any good books set in or around the sea? I'm talking about pirates, mermaids, sailors, characters who live on islands or beaches, etc. It can be any genre.

For me, it’s Beloved by Toni Morrison. It shows how truly awful humans can be to each other but also how humans find themselves through ghosts.

DNF at 36%. Thank you Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.
This book is not by any means bad. It’s a nice YA read. I loved the beginning and thought that it was intriguing. I could feel Roe’s emotions as if they were my own. As the book went on, I found myself struggling to push through each chapter. The time skips definitely didn’t help. The magic system was confusing and needed to be better explained.
It’s a nice debut, and I’ll definitely check out any future books this author writes. This just wasn’t able to keep me hooked.

If you think real world societies are bad (you'd be right)... get a load of *these.*

Has anyone found inspiration for their reading in the Winter Olympics this year? Anything from winter sports to Italian settings or anything else ❄️

Have you ever seen a pet name being used in a book and IMMEDIATELY gotten the ick?
The FMC in my book just called her husband sweetheart… he’s over 50. I DONT LIKE IT😭

Y'all I won a giveaway for a physical copy of an ARC I read and so freaking excited! I've been lucky enough to have won a few different bookish giveaways and have a great time joining them.
Do you participate in any bookish giveaways? Have you won any?
Oh, also if you do participate in any giveaways what's something that would make you not want to participate? I was thinking about this early today when joining a giveaway, I noticed I don't really join ones that you have to tag multiple people. Lol I don't have that many bookish friends and don't want to keep spamming them!💀😂

what books were you OBSESSED with as a kid? I'm trying to build a book tour list of all the books I read and loved as a kid, but the more I look, the more I realize that I read sooo many that I'm struggling to remember ALL the books I really loved.
