I have to be honest that if I have read it in a different time the rating will be different. But sometimes, you really find a book when you need it. And it is one of those times.

As a fan of CSI, I enjoyed every bit of this book. The romance, the mystery, and the plot. It felt too short, but also a good amount of pages to leave you wanting more. I also like the characters and the pacing of the book. Thank goodness this is not one of those angsty story. A good palette cleanser for anyone who loves romantic thrillers. So excited to dive into the next book in this series. Hopefully, it will not disappoint because I have high hopes. Highly recommend!

A lot of things happen in this book. There are too many mysteries and puzzles to solve that it had been too much. With all the anticipation and the twist and turn, the plot twist and the ending are not executed well which is why this only a 3-star book.

If the characters are in separate books and separate stories, I would have liked them better. But here? In this book? I am not sure. I am not even sure if I want to read the next one since I kinda didn’t care about most of the things that happened in the story. But it was a quick read. The chapters are quite short and would leave you wanting more with all the mysteries the author is trying to sell us.

However, it could have been better. So, let’s see if I will get to the second book.

Whenever nonreader colleagues ask me for a book recommendation as a beginner, I am afraid to give them an answer because our taste may vary and they might dislike the book that I recommend let alone dislike reading as a whole. But now, if someone asked me the same question, this will be my go-to answer. The chapters are short yet it will give nonreaders an insight of where to start if they want to read and how to fall in love with reading. This can also be an eye opener that reading is not only for “intelligent people” as people around me would often say.

Hwang Bo-Reum never fails to shake the reading slump away. Highly recommend if you want a quick but meaningful read.

A perfect read for a cozy weather. I love each story and meeting those who passed by the photo studio. Love the first and last story. The second one, not so much. But it’s a good story nonetheless.
