I think it was a mistake to read this right after 'Pride and Prejudice', since it made me unintentionally compare both of them and kept asking myself what would be appropriate for the culture and morals the story is placed on. I dismissed it most of the time to allow the plot to work out.
That being said, I almost DNF'ed it, since the first half can be very gloomy to say the least and I was happy it picked up after it. That being said, I enjoyed it for what it is and can't wait to see the show too!

hello everyone!!
(long post ahead!)
as a birthday present to myself, I got myself a kindle and I've had it for only a week. I decided to start with a reread of Pride and Prejudice (in Spanish) to get used to it and now I'm about 30% into The Other Bennet Sister, I'm loving it (both the book and the kindle) so much after years of not being able to pick up a book again.
That has left me a little bit far away from the reading community and therefore far away from more organic recommendations like I was used to years ago. So, I come here to ask for your favorite books or something you would highly encourage anyone to read!
English isn't my first language, so Spanish recs are also welcomed, and if you recommend a title in English and find it particularly difficult, I can always find if there are any published translations.
I don't have any particular inclination towards any genre, I favor books written by women too. I'd say anything but what you would consider "A Classicâ˘ď¸" (ie, Moby Dick, Le Mis, The Count on Monte Cristo) since most of those are already on my TBR!
Sorry if there are any grammar mistakes and thank you for reading this!!
edit: also, I'd love to have some mutuals in here, so let me know if you want that too!

I came back to this book for two reasons: I just bought my kindle and I decided it would be the first book for me to read, since it's something I love, so I know what to get used to.
I haven't read it since I was a teenager besides remembering my favorite parts on my tenth rewatch of the year of the BBC show or the movie. So, I was pleasantly surprised to discover I love the book way more than I did when I was just a teenager.
