watership down written from the perspective of girl rabbits would just be the handmaid's tale tbh (yes it is that deep to me)

not claiming this energy ‼️
slimey and freaky and gross but pretty cool. metaphores were a bit flat or obvious or repetitive sometimes but apart from that i was impressed by the writing and found it original.
it does remind me a lot of the lamb by ruby rose (creepy and gross atmosphere with cannibalistic lesbians), who imo did it a bit better, so if you like this book i recommend that one!

beautiful and thought-provoking book, especially i think if you are less familiar with ecological and environmental sciences.
i was unsure if the book lost its voice a bit in the third part, or if my mind had just gotten tired of the premise, but reading the other reviews i see this was a common issue.
if i could change anything i'd wish he'd gotten even more into the practical activism and science of it all, but i understand why robert didn't, since that is not really the the aim of this book. i just wanted more cool river facts 😔.
overall i'm very happy this book exists and that i've read it :)
