I cant’t believe how much I loved a book that made me gag multiple times and give me full body shivers. Kingfishers writing has burrowed into my brain once again from the atmosphere, to the characters, and to the jaw dropping, gasping aloud plot twists. I also love when evil men get what they deserve, absolute chefs kiss of a gothic squirmy horror

goddamn. I love weird little books so much. This book absolutely delighted and depressed me in the best of all the ways because humanity truly is so weird and evil but also sometimes good. This mountain lion will be living rent free in my head for quite some time; the way this cat loved and raged and grieved and contemplated was moving and spectacular. More books like this please.

While the plot was absolutely insane, it was hard to watch Margot’s delusional spiral into the ultimate ending… and I just don’t know how to feel about this… I enjoyed it, but I don’t know if I liked it…

Overall, insanely well written and researched and a well planned history of reality tv but I did yearn for more analysis and while it is a historical coverage summary, I feel that there is a current explosion of reality tv that could have been covered as well. For any reality tv lovers though, it’s important to discuss and learn (if you haven’t already) about the ethics and morally grey/straight up unethical side of the genre.
