    Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

What is WWW Wednesday? Well, some people say it's "What We Weading Wednesday" but the Ws actually refer to the "what" in three questions!

    1. What are you currently reading?

    2. What have you recently finished reading?

    3. What will you read next?

I'd love to see your answers!

this is probably just a book hangover from the previous one i finished, but i find it difficult to finish this book. it could also be because i've watched the film multiple times now and prefer it over this one 😔

NGL, I bought this book solely for its pretty cover, stenciled edges and the illustrations inside. I went inside with no exceptions and was pleasantly surprised with how i liked this book after I read it. Don't Let the Forest In by C. G. Drews is an enjoyable read and I was always looking forward to what would happen next. I agree to one of the users here who reviewed the book that this could have been a novella and shorter than it actually was. I loved the atmosphere, the dark academia, and of course the monsters.

The characters didn't stick out to me as much but I cared for them about 30-40% of the book. They're like my close friends whom I concerned for and thoroughly wished they'd got out unscathed. Loved the ace representation and how the characters navigated their sexuality and emotions.

The romance was also well-done though I think it's a little misplaced at times and kind of... off in the middle of serious moments where Andrew would randomly just stare at Thomas and notice the little things or be overcome with how much he would like to kiss him (but the payoff at the end was really good, I eat that shit up all the time!) and the constant repetition of words was a little too edgy Tumblr-y. But as a Tumblr girlie myself, it wasn't too bad and added to the storytelling well.

Highly recommended and would re-read soon.

i finished it! (or did it finish me?)

the ending was such a roller coaster of confusion and dread and bittersweet revelations. did i lose some sleep to finish this wonderfully haunting book? yes, yes i did.

immediately adds this to one of my favorites. can't wait to read more of C. G. Drews's works!

of all the killings and monsters, i'm more disgusted by the lump in Andrew's ear because it is one of my fears that something is growing inside of my head 😭
