Dreamlike, raw, brutal look at Sri Lanka's civil war through the eyes (or camera lens) of a deeply flawed man. This summary does not do it any justice, and I don't really want to try and explain it more than to give you the slightest taste of the premise. I went in mostly blind, and was swept away by the story, the prose, and everything Karunatilaka had to say.

Oh I am enraptured by this book. The storytelling is dreamlike and forces you to focus, but every word has me gripped. I'm so glad I picked it up.
