Offred can remember the years before, when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge. But all of that is gone now…
Funny, unexpected, horrifying, and altogether convincing, The Handmaid's Tale is at once scathing satire, dire warning, and tour de force.

This was such an easy five star read for me! The whole setting around academia was so interesting and refreshing for me since I have never read anything about it. The characters were also so well written, I especially enjoyed reading from both POVS. The footnotes were also such a cute addition

It took me embarrassingly quite a long time to finish this book, but I wanted to expand the genres I read so I finished it. The storyline was actually quite good and I enjoyed the plot. However, the writing was seriously not for me. The whole science-y stuff where mechanisms were explained were really boring to me. And I also did not like Bernard at all. Other than that, the storyline was really interesting. I would’ve definitely enjoyed this book more if it was written a bit differently

I have so many good reviews on this book so I am going to continue reading it, but honestly getting through the first chapter is so difficult because it’s just so unnecessarily descriptive and boring😭

I liked the story of this book but considering that it’s a romance book I feel like it just dragged quite a bit. Plus it was way too much spice for my taste. I wanted to dnf it 50% into the book but I finished it for the sake of finishing but I honestly didn’t enjoy the last 150 pages too much

It was a cute book and I really enjoyed it. The writing was just not my cup of tea sometimes. Plus grown ass couples calling each other baby just really irks me for some reason. Other than that, great book!
