“He wishes me to say that he has not sufficient money with him, and that he would like to pay for his staying here, so that others who need shall not be wanting for help.”

So do we think that Sister Agatha took some liberties and added this in so the hospital would get payment? 👀

  • Autumn: horror season or Regency season?

I was browsing through Booktok recommendations the other day, and stumbled upon a video titled "Books to read in autumn". I wasn't surprised when I saw a couple of horror/mystery books, but I didn't expect to see Jane Austen or the Brontë sisters! And now I wanna read Pride and Prejudice 👀 What do you think? Is autumn the perfect season for Regency era books?

Okay I get that the count is very scary, with all his vampiric powers, but isn't he a bit...cunty too? 👀 💅 I don't know, he's giving me that dramatic vibe xD

I know the book should be scaring me with the description of vampires and their powers, but right now it's the blood transfusions that are making me shiver 🤣

  • Where are the Gilmore Girlies at?

What about dropping some books that fit the Gilmore Girls aesthetic, I was thinking a mixture of cutesy rom coms (maybe embracing the small town vibe) and some literary fiction that might fit the academic side of the show (rory girlies rise up). Classics might be a good idea too... the Brontë Sisters are perfect for Autumn!

2% in, and there's a reference to my culture 👀 (at least in the Spanish translation, they mention "los honderos baleáricos" xD)

  • Your TBR list

I was really curious what you guys put on your TBR list on here, as in do you only put books from your physical TBR (aka books you own but haven‘t read yet) or also in general all the books you want to read even if you don‘t have them yet. Because on my old goodreads account I added any book that sounded interesting, except it got out of hand and I ended up having a TBR of over 600 books 🙈😂. Which is exactly why I DIDN‘T transfer my goodreads data on here to kinda have a fresh start and my TBR here on Pagebound is only books I actually own — and my physical TBR is already a whooping 130-something sooo yeahhhh. Oopsie tee hee 🙈🎀✨ But then I get sooo frustrated when I see a book that I REALLY want to read in the future but don‘t own yet and so I don‘t put it on my TBR to not mess up my system. Right now my solution is that I have a googledocs document where I just write the titles of books suggestions ✨for the future✨. But so yeah i was curious how y‘all do it?☺️

this is why Gothic writers rock

I loved this book. It wasn't your typical horror book, since Frankenstein's monster wasn't that scary: after all, he reflects humanity's flaws, so in that case humanity is veeeery scary. It was, surprisingly, an easy read, and since I didn't have any previous knowledge of Frankenstein's story, I was very surprised by the ending.

Now that I've read the book, there's something I don't understand: why do they depict Frankenstein animating the monster with lighting, if it's never specified how it's done? I kept waiting for it through the book, the only movie cliché I indulged in xD

    🕯️
