The Orange and Other Poems

This was...a bit of a letdown, I won't lie. I had high expectations after "Bunny", and was very excited to tackle this one, but boy did I struggle to go through it. It wasn't all bad, and I really liked the ending, but the whole middle of the book was a hard read...
Spoilers ahead!
The parts I enjoyed? The Bunnies' The parts I didn't enjoy? Aerius' I started this book hoping for more backstory of the Bunnies, and we had it... for a short time. I was hoping for more "substance" (I know, I know xD), and was left a bit disappointed. Regarding Aerius, I truly didn't care as much for him: I understand his story and how he's a modern modern Frankenstein, but...the way his chapters were written made it hard for me to enjoy it. But hey, at least I'm happy with how things ended for him. I spent the entire book overanalyzing the plot, which I know is my fault, but...to not fully explain about the Darlings summoning until the very end with a very short explanation... Again, a bit disappointed, I was hoping for either all of this being a metaphor, or overly explained rituals and myths and stuff. But the ending, oh the ending I really enjoyed, it was such a twist!!! Very smart of Samantha to send a Bunny in her place, a Girl Bunny! Take that Bunnies, Samantha is the one in communion with the Source!

I...did not like this part: on one hand, the writing style (with emojis and nouns written in caps) made it difficult for me to read it and follow the text, and on the other, I found it unnecessary and a bit boring... I hope the next part will be more interesting, because as of now, I'm not enjoying this book as much as "Bunny"

"I admire the allusions to Frankenstein and fairy tales. But the whole story seems quite... whorish". Ursula calling out the girls đ€Ł It's fine to want a man, Bunnies, just admit it

Don't know about you, but I find the whole Poets part a bit...tedious?

Hear me out...should we consider this book a retelling of Frankenstein? đ

It was very interesting to see the trauma of each Bunny, something I missed in the first book! Something I've been trying to do during all this first part, was to overanalyze the meaning of the Bunnies' thoughts and actions, but that led me to not enjoy the book as much, so I'm gonna try to take it as it comes : they have mystical powers (at first I thought it was a metaphor for something, but in the end it has to be intentional right?) And finally, the shortest way to describe this part: four girls want to be gay with each other but also with men, they CANNOT take criticism for their lives, and they hate men but want them but no but yes but no
