I heard only good things for this book, but unfortunately I'm trying not to DNF. I'm at about page 330 and it's still slow and boring. I enjoy the characters but the years are dragging on, especially with all of the unnecessary details and side characters. Should I bother finishing?

I’m basically a fourth of the way through this book and I have no idea what the purpose of the story is lol. What is the plot???

Loved this prequel! I still got those cozy vibes with just a touch of action and adventure. It was good read and enjoyed learning more about Viv and her past. The new characters are lovable and make you want to keep reading!

As a stand alone book, I thoroughly enjoyed it. However as a sequel, I was very disappointed. I started the series because I was looking for cozy, low stress, but this story left me with anxiety of what is going to happen the whole time. If you're okay with that, then the book will be just fine for you. However, if you want a cozy read, I would not recommend.

A very unique story that may not be for everyone, but I loved dearly. Wholesome and intriguing. Quick 1-2 day read that will leave you feeling hopeful for the future.

In a word, disappointing. I really wanted to like this book. Started slow and just as the story was picking up pace, it got slow again. Leaves you hanging on cliffhangers, but with no desire to read the sequels. The story line itself was decent. The explicit sexual content was completely unnecessary and felt very out of place alongside the rest of the book. Definitely needs trigger and content warnings at the beginning of the book for sexual, graphic, and triggering themes.

Moving, inspiring, emotional, eye opening, and more! Fantastic book and loved the audiobook being narrated by John himself!

I think other reviews have said it perfectly, but this is just what I needed for a cozy book that I can read over a long weekend. Low stakes and not stressful. Leaves you feeling better at the end of it than when you started. Wish there were more books out there that had this same vibe!

Not as good as the first book, The Lost Bookshop. This one was slow and turned into a love story. Leaves you wanting more of the lore and depth of the 'stories' they are collecting. If you want a cozy and slow love story this will fit your needs. If you want lore and depth in the world building, this will leave you disappointed.

I don't typically go for this type of fiction, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. It was a cozy read and had fairly low stakes but kept you interested. Wouldn't mind reading it again!

  • Anyone familiar with Likewise?

I currently/previously used the Likewise app as an alternative to Goodreads. Now that I've found Pagebound I'm slowly moving over my lists. But curious if anyone else has used it and if there's interest in the developers adding a port option to pull over lists from Likewise? Or any other features Likewise has that could be incorporated into Pagebound?
