Hmm, this book was missing something for me. At first I was pretty into it, but then at some point I just stopped being as invested, and by the end I was actually getting somewhat bored. Which is unfortunate considering how interested I was in the first third to half! The simplest way I could put it is that: this book didn’t really make me feel anything, even when I was very clearly supposed to. Not sure if I’d read the next book in the trilogy anytime soon, but there was definitely some good stuff here, just not totally for me.

the humor in this is soooo good. bardugo's sense of humor is so my taste. i'm also really enjoying the character/relationship growth in crooked kingdom verus book one. in six of crows it felt like three "couples" who barely liked each other, certainly didn't respect each other but oddly enough worked well together. now it feel like we're getting more of that found family bond i was really hoping for. i especially adore inej and nina's relationship. this is girlhood ✨ fractured and dangerous, but still girlhood!
i haven't been able to read this as much as i wanted to. being so busy with work and thinking about getting my masters so looking at schools. i have a tooth extraction scheduled this afternoon so 4 days of bed rotting means i will have nothing but time to finish this!!!

Whit seems like an absolute ass. I know he’s going to be the love interest to Inez but right now I get douchey vibes.
