Fairly standard romcom with a huge dose of specifically millennial humor/cringe. It’s essentially a Buzzfeed: Unsolved fan fiction from what I can tell.
Also rare, but one of the least developed FMCs of all time. The MMC is a conspiracy theorists (but not the racist antisemitic kind! And he cares about consent!) and the entire book really focuses on his interests and trauma. All her trauma is centered on her ex and as far as I could tell she has zero interests and a vague family history.

Ok, this is Buzzfeed: Unsolved fan fiction, right? I probably should’ve known this.

It’s hard to rate essays, but Jamaica Kincaid is also top tier. This paralleled well with my feelings on One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This - A Small Place is angry, and while there are facts, it’s mostly a memoir in a way to articulate very frustrating and complicated feelings.
Did this make me uncomfortable as someone who travels to formerly colonized locations? Absolutely, and it should. This packs the punch it intends to in a very short time.

I think this book takes “yes, AND” to a new level… and quite possibly is never going to end
