  • Dream reading setup

If you could choose the most perfect reading setup- environment, time of day, book genre, etc.- what would it be? I, for one, have been daydreaming of setting up a hammock by the edge of a lake on a sunny summer day and reading nonfic books for hours ☀️☀️

  • Blessed reading streak 📚 ✨

I realised I've lucked out in 2026, every book I've read so far has been a 4 or 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👏 Has anyone else been this lucky? What's been your absolute favourite? I think Golden Son (Red Rising #2) takes the top spot for me.

  • West Asian Literature ???

Hello, all! Trying to find both fictional and non-fiction recommendations to learn more about West Asia and North Africa. I have read plenty about Palestine, some about Syria, and a little about Egypt. Trying to find if there are any lists already created but of course, I'm not even sure the best term to call the region ( Middle East, West Asia, Southwest Asia?), but basically looking for books centered around the arab countries. Would love a full history but also more specific fictional stories (I loved "As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow"). I know "A History of the Modern Middle East" as I studied it in university but not sure if that was even written by people from the region.

My sister asked me for recs and I couldn't help her so I said I'd ask my friends (aka boundlings lol). Let me know if there are any great lists already created! Thank you!

Despite me getting angrier with each page I read, I think this is an important and accessible book for everyone to read.

I read this as a prison abolitionist myself, so I wasn’t new or unfamiliar with the widespread tangled web of entities who benefit from our carceral systems. However, while I’ve read many books on the prison/jail systems I have not read one specifically focused on ICE detention.

This is a great book for beginners just starting to question the ICE detention system but it’s also a great book for people like me who are already familiar with most of the inner workings of our carceral system as it dives pretty deep into reports they have requested.
