(I listened to the audiobook version which was great to learn pronunciations) WOW. This was a great read. It pulled me in with how unique of a story it was, the characters all have depth and evoke real emotions throughout reading, and the author set us up very well for book 2. I liked the pacing, the descriptions, and the realness of the characters. I am having a bit of a hard time following the history and keeping up with the use of multiple names for some of the characters, but overall I would for sure recommend this book!

This was a bizarre read. The main character was not likable and I was appalled by the way the author described people in this book. I thought maybe the main character would grow throughout the story and talk about others with more kindness but she remained judgemental till the very end. There was an odd relationship between the adults and children, the plot was very predictable, and the story was drawn out before being rushed in the last few chapters. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book.

Are we supposed to like Amanda? The way she thinks and speaks about others is horrible so far, based on the description I thought she was going to be portrayed as a nice person

So good!! A little predictable at times but this was overall a touching story. It had a good message throughout, seeing the characters deal with difficult situations gave an interesting perspective and lots to think about. I felt that they could have dwelled longer on the concept of a miscarriage but overall would recommend this book.

I love a good dual timeline story! This was a really nice read that had a satisfying ending, slightly predictable, and a good message throughout. I would for sure recommend this book and enjoyed how it made me think!
