This is an introduction to modern poetry, with a focus on breadth of voices and styles rather than depth. In the words of Leonard Cohen, "poetry is just the evidence of life...if your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash." This quest is for those who love poetry, hate poetry, want to write it, read it, or perhaps have nothing to do with it (or all of that at once)!

So I was someone who used to dislike poetry a few years ago but recently I discovered I actually like writing poems and I'm pretty decent at it. The problem is I haven't read any poetry books and idk where to start. Any suggestions? I want some inspiration and discover some really good poets.

I’ve gotten book crates and blind date with a book’s that have given me the cutest little sticky tabs and highlighters and all kinds of little bookish accessories but here’s my problem, I don’t use them. They just sit cute in my office and I don’t know what to do lol. I want to use them somehow but I’m not someone that highlights really or tabs. Does anyone else feel this way and does anyone have any unique ideas for how I can use them and not waste them.
And for those of you that do tab, are you ready everything multiple times is that why you tab books?
