Ahhhh lawwwd, the vibes and spice in the book was SOOO real. I enjoyed every morsel of it. AND IT STILL WASN'T ENOUGH! I NEED/WANTED MORE. Everything about the book was so filthy and erotica (good things). I am so glad my friend threw the series into my lap, and I ate it up.
Xeraphine. I am soooo sooo, sooooooooo gay for her. Like the bi-panic was real. She is so unhinged and such a black cat, i'm just like "Mommy step on me please?" SHE IS GORGEOUS AND I WANT HER. Kairhys is ughhh, the wonderful stalker. I love that he knows he's a creep and he embraces it. They are both equally crazy and I AM ALL HERE FOR IT. WHY IS IT SO FUCKING HOT.
James Cassidy is literally just exisiting and I am already in love with his narration. This is my first book with him as the MMC and I just died inside!!!
I wish I could experience the book better. I hope when I am in a better headspace, I can thoroughly enjoy the audiobook. BUT ONTO BOOK 2 I GO

This sadly was not for me. I was absolutely bored out of my mine. I don't want to fully say Lit-RPG isn't the genre for me, so I will have to find another book to see if it's really me or not.
It was too predictable. The stereotypical man who use to be part of a "Guild" or "group" of some sort but he was retired and happily married and a child on the way or the the said child is only a baby/toddler. Then BOOM the said family gets murked and the MC now wants revenge on his dead family...... yadda yadda. In all honestly, if the characters were set up in a way we could connect to them, the impact would have been more hurtful. He just felt like a 2D character, no true feelings or thoughts. So I couldn't get into the rhythm of the book.
I was told to read another Lit-RPG so I will be trying it out before I decide that genre is just not my fave to read.

If you want a cute no spice cowboy romance, this is for you. It is a bit too "clean" for my taste lol (yes im a degenerate, we've established this), but it was overral a good story. It kinda gets to the point where the two MCs are trying to find genuine love that isn't based on their fame and money.

This was an interesting take of Hansel and Gretel story lol. I absolutely enjoyed it. I wish we had more creepy suspense in regards of the witch folklore. I did get spooked a bit, and I would have enjoyed it more if it continued.
The set up for the next book, is what im readyyy for pfpfpfpfpffp. Like ya'll don't realize how much I'm ready for it. I hope the spice is the most raunchiest one in the group.

I love that we are starting a whole new story and setting, but with a character we already had an idea of. Also, with get Sloan mentions! I love it.
While I did have fun, I did feel some parts felt dragged the tiniest bit. Luckily, the banter between Harper and Nolan were everything. I honestly wished we had at least 1 hate sex. You know for my sanity lol. I'm getting tired of these slow/medium burn. If we're going to hate each other, at least fuck it out at least once in the early stages then let that fester and build up for more.
I am glad we are getting a full trilogy of Harper's and Nolan's story (i think?) I am very curious where the plot will lead.

Rating 2.5ā Audio Narration: 2.5ā Spice šā¤ļøāš©¹š³ļøāš
I honeslty think this story had a lot more potential. We definitely could have expanded on the world building to solidify it. It's story takes place in a dystopian world, I would like to explore more on it. I'm aware the book could have been read as a standalone, but there are definitely missing components. I don't know why I also assumed Oxley was a robot...or at least a type of AI robot....nope just turns out it may be a representation of austism(?)
The narration was okay. It was the worst audio narration I have ever listened to but it wasn't all time amazing. I defintely would have preferred if the book was a Duet style, just to make the story a bit more intersting.
*Mini Summary: The world is ultimate chaos; a dog-eat-dog world. Only you can fend for yourself. If anyone knew you were anything but straight, you were dead...on sight, or you just happen to be between crossfires and get shot in the leg.... Well that's what happens to Huntley. He thinks this is his end until a towering presence takes him and locks up in his prison. Or so Huntley thinks?
All Oxley hears is a shattering scream before he follows the sound, finding a fallen man on the ground bleeding out. And for some odd reason, Oxley couldn't just leave him. There was something so alluring about the man that Oxley has to keep him for himself.*
