I'm going into this book completely blind. I've never heard about it until it came up in a classic goth lit rec. I'm surprised I haven't heard of it since I love gothic lit, but I'm glad to hear of it now. First paragraph in and I'm very much assuming large themes of this book will be misogyny and body horror. I could be wrong but the emphasis on certain phrasing already makes me feel like I'm not. I'll update as I go along though.
