So I think everybody had that one book - that everyone else loved and you just didn't get a hype.
For me it's Invisible life of Addie LaRue. I'm stuck in the middle. Don't get me wrong, it's beautifully written. And I like the author. The concept itself was interesting too. But I felt like which each time skip I was more tired of reading it. And I just wasn't invested either with story or characters.
So I'm curious - what are your book that everyone love and recommend but it didn't win you heart?

I've been waiting for this book to pick up the pace but I am still bored to tears. 😅 However, I will say that all the ladies in this forum have a great sense of humor. It is definitely making this book better.

Aziraphael and Crowley are delightful characters - it's just a pity that they're stuck in such a boring book. I found myself flicking through large chunks of the dialogue in the kids' sections with my eyes glazed over, because it doesn't matter how funny the dialogue is meant to be if there is absolutely nothing happening. I enjoyed the Witchfinders and the medium next door as characters, but again, nothing really happened with them plotwise. The four horsemen of the apocalypse were hilarious but somehow also managed to have absolutely no impact in the story. It feels like Pratchett and Gaiman had a bunch of ideas for gag characters with the common theme of supernatural beings and forgot to develop a story to put them in. A disappointment for me, unfortunately.

An introduction to the Classics, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

Is anyone else completely unable to decipher what Joseph is saying in any of his lines? I've tried reading them out loud phonetically as best as I can but I absolutely cannot understand him. Is there anywhere I can find a "translation" of his dialogue?

A timeless classic for a reason, and the perfect entry into Austen and Regency romance lit. A hilariously witty commentary on Regency society that somehow resonated with me today.
