When I first started it seemed fun, but the characters had absolutely no chemistry (neither romantic nor sexual) and it just threw me off. The whole thing would be much better if the characters had a better relationship because the plot was already interesting enough.

  • Books you love with protagonists you hate

I'm curious if any of you guys are able to really love a book while really hating the protagonist. I don't know I can seriously hate reading a protagonist and love a book, because if I intensely clash with the main character it tends to reflect poorly on the rest of the story for me. I disliked reading Johnny from House of Leaves so much that it worsened the whole book for me. He wasn't even particularly malicious or anything, just unenjoyable.

On the other hand... mostly every character in Wuthering Heights is kind of objectively awful and malicious. But they're entertaining and intentionally frustrating so it doesn't make my reading experience worse. I don't really "hate" them in that way.

What about you guys? Any protagonists that you hate in books that you love? Or is it a total deal breaker for you if you don't enjoy the characters?

  • Tbr or interested?

Which books end up in your "tbr" or "interested" list? How do you differentiate the two reading status? 🤔

I don't usually like second chance romances but this was a fun read.

  • What are your book icks?

i do not mean that a book has something you hate, but you are reading a book and an author does something (like write in a certain way or chose a particular name etc) that gives you the ick and you are no longer into the book

Blue is the cutest little thing and I loved his vicious side. Nothing much was going on in the book but it was still really fun to read.
