dystopian novels or short stories (if you have suggestions or think there are mistakes please let me know!)

edit: a dystopian book describes an undesirable society, and contains themes of oppression perpetrated by a tyrannical government. It is different from post-apocalyptic books (like The Road), which can contain similar themes, but lack the social commentary about living in fear of the government, lack of individualisation, propaganda, etc.

They aren't fucking yours

These are mostly in order by year

Audiobooks narrated by actors who appear in a TV or film adaptation of the book too

This is a collection of novels that invites you to explore, as well as reflect on the complicated and disturbing depths of humanity, especially with regards to history, globalization, politics, and most importantly; how our relationship to nature itself has been challenged.

Epistolary, ergodic, experimental, unconventional… books that challenge the traditional formats and usual rules of storytelling. 👀

Dystopian books that may feel too close to home for us, but also have a lesson or two about human nature.
